The social media website ‘’Instagram’’ arbitrarily closed the account of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition.
In the details, the Swedish company ‘’IKEA’’ filed a complaint against the accounts of the February 14 Coalition after its called for a boycott of Swedish goods through designs posted on its accounts, including the company’s logo, as part of the campaign of rejection and denunciation of allowing the Swedish government an extremist to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque on the days of Eid al-Adha.
‘’Instagram’’ has taken this arbitrary action without hearing the views of the February 14 Coalition to date.
It is worth noting that ‘’IKEA’’ was founded in 1943 as a small Swedish company that sells products through email catalogues, and then developed to become a global brand which sells ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories. The company has a branch in Bahrain which is the largest branch in the Middle East.
