Al-Khalifa regime escalates its violations against political detainees, through conducting systematic abuse on their families, preventing them from visiting, and even threatening them.
In this context, the mother of the prisoner of conscience, Hassan Muhammad Al-Sheikh, in the Dry Dock Prison, was prevented from seeing him for the third month, due to the insistence of the prison administration to remove her Hijab “veil” in front of the camera.
The administration was not satisfied with this, but rather it threatened her, after she rejected the inspection procedures that insulted dignity and violated religious norms.
The mother stated, “She was threatened with arrest with her husband inside the prison”, and when she wanted to write a grievance to officials and concerned authorities, one of the inspection police did not care about the complaint or the punishment, but rather she was intent on not allowing her to visit her son again and asked her to stick to home.
The family of the detainee, Rajaei Bedou, expressed deep concern for him after disallowing him to communicate, without knowing the reasons. The family of the detainee who had a severe Sickle disease , Hassan Ali Abdul-Athan-Ashar, was prevented from visiting him, after he asked for treatment when he suffered an acute attack. The family of detainee, Qasim Amin, was prevented from the visiting, scheduled on Sunday 16 February 2020, for unknown reasons too.
