The prisoners of opinion are subjecting to physical and psychological abuse, in addition to ongoing harassment, solitary confinement and deprivation of treatment even if that cause a serious danger on their lives.
On this concern, local sources have mentioned that the management of central prison of Joe had moved the detainee, Ahmed Sabah Al Banaa, who is sentenced to life imprisonment and more than 100 years in prison on political charges, to the solitary confinement “isolation”, without giving reasons.
Al Banaa has had bad health conditions and he has been subjected to the intensive care ” resuscitation” as a result of the severe torture he exposed by the regime’s mercenaries. He was arrested with the martyr, Reza Al Ghasra, when they were trying to escape from the prison in April 2014.
The detainee, Mohammad Al Sahlawi was threatened too by the prison’s guards, who intimidated him with legal punishment.
Al Sahlawi mentioned that the management of Joe prison has deprived him from medications and treatment and the prison’s doctor is a partner in torturing prisoners, as he follows the orders of the mercenaries.
He revealed in a voice record that he had been subjected to a harsh torture by Syrian prison inmate in solitary confinement, and he thinks that his life is in danger, describing the confinement as a grave for the prisoners.
He added that the doctor of the prison, Ahmed Al Sudani, is a partner in the crimes against the detainees inside the prison, as he always compels the detainees to follow his orders, otherwise they will face retaliation. The doctor might give detainees a non medical prescription, and the orderly could deprive them from it, while the mercenary could cancel the dates of the clinic visits legally and the cook could put anything in the meals.
On the other hand, the family of the detainee, Hassan Abd Al Ethanashir, expressed deep concerns about his health as he deliberately neglected by the Joe Prison Management.
The family said, during a visit on Sunday Nov 3, 2019, that he was very weak and faint, specially he had Siklar disease and he needs immediate health care and nutrition, which are not available in the prison.
