The family of the opinion detainee, Elias Al-Mullah, has demanded the necessity of treating him, as he is suffering from cancer, expressing its deep concern for his safety. The family clarified that “the immunity of general despair may be weak and incapable of resisting disease, especially with the deterioration of conditions inside the central prison of Joe, with the lack of air and poor hygiene”. The family stressed his right to have freedom unconditionally and to be able to treat , holding al-Khalifa regime full responsibility for the continuous deterioration in his health conditions. It also called on human rights associations and international organizations for urgent action to protect him and keep his life, especially that he is in an advanced stage of colon cancer disease. It is worth mentioning that the detainee Al-Mullah has declared entering a hunger strike at the beginning of July 2019, protesting against the negligence of the administration of central prison intentionally, and not providing medical care.
