On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, a set of mercenaries attacked and vandalized Ashura manifestations in the towns of Bilad al-Qadeem and Marigh.
Meanwhile, Al-Khalifa’s Ministry of Terrorism has ordered the removal of a camp in Bilad al-Qadeem, where the councils of Imam Hussein (PBUH) was used to be held.
Interior Minister Rashid Abdullah Al Khalifa, in turn, claimed that the freedom to practice religious rituals is guaranteed to all people according to the followed traditions in the country, and warned against the use of Ashura occasion for political purposes, nevertheless the regime continued to crack down on religious freedoms, targeted the manifestations of Ashura every year, deliberately removed banners and photos of Ashura and detained many Shiite preachers.
