Ramadan and Musa were sentenced to death on December 29, 2014 on fabricated accusation of murdering a police officer in al-Deer town in February 2014. While in 2015, Al-Khalifa Court of Cassation supported the death sentences and referred their case to Hamad bin Issa for ratification, but it revoked the rule on 22 October 2018 and referred their case to the Court of Appeal for retrial.
