According to human rights sources, the families of the prisoners of opinion are suffering a lot of harassment before and during the visit. They have to wait a long time to book an appointment with the difficulty of getting it through the phone. Family members spend hours to complete this process periodically.
Perhaps, the most disturbing thing for these families is the ” humiliating inspection method” which does not respect the sanctity of women and may reach the extent of exposure to their decency. In this context, the mother of the detainee, Hassan Abd al-Amir Mushaima, who jailed in the “Dry Dock” prison , building No.17, refused to visit him on 17th, June 2019, after the prison administration insisted on taking off her abaya “cape” in front of the cameras.
Um Hassan added that “the time of the visit was reduced to half an hour, and turned to once a month and behind the separation barrier and under the surveillance cameras, demanding to stop these practices, and to enable her son to have the right treatment, as he suffers from severe pain in the teeth, while al-Khalifa entity dines his right to treatment”.
