Changing the Name Does Not Conceal the Crime… From “Public Security” to “Bahrain Police”
The tyrant of Bahrain, Hamad, issued a law on 15 December 2025 amending the Public Security Law, whereby the designation “Public Security” was changed to “Bahrain Police.” This change has triggered a wave of suspicion regarding the motives behind the amendment, particularly in light of the rapidly escalating security policies in the country, the persistent attempts to modernize the structures of security agencies, and what is emerging of dubious objectives that threaten the identity of citizens.
In recent days, a series of activities took place in which Tariq Al-Hassan participated, within the context of promoting the new designation of the security apparatus he heads.
Observers have raised suspicion-laden questions about this amendment, especially when viewed alongside previous decisions to change the names of regions and streets, in a manner consistent with a directed campaign aimed at redefining concepts, institutions, and public functions.
Some add that the shift from “Public Security” to “Bahrain Police” is not merely an administrative or ministerial restructuring, but rather part of carefully planned and parallel amendments that enable the authorities to conceal their real objectives—namely, covering up crimes, legalizing repression, and forcing people to adopt the authority’s lexicon, which is based on a scheme to transform the value of citizenship from loyalty to the homeland into loyalty to security forces and the tribe.
On 25 December 2025, Tariq Al-Hassan stated that the “national initiatives”—as he described them—aim to “strengthen Bahraini identity and entrench the values of loyalty and belonging,” in promotion of the notorious project overseen by the Minister of Interior, Rashid Abdullah Al Khalifa, under the title “The National Plan to Enhance National Belonging and Entrench the Values of Citizenship.”
The statement was made during Al-Hassan’s participation in a ceremony organized by the Northern Governorate—affiliated with the Ministry of Interior—under the title “Sons of the Nation – 3,” on the occasion of the so-called “national holidays.”
Notably, Al-Hassan attended the aforementioned ceremony wearing civilian clothing; however, this does not conceal the dangers looming over Bahrain’s identity and its people, now that their fate lies in the hands of criminal officers operating alongside the terrorist Rashid, and under the command of the people’s foremost enemy, the tyrant Hamad.
Just as changing one’s attire does not alter the reality of criminals, changing the names of institutions does not conceal their crimes or their lies.
