On Friday evening, July 19, 2024, mass rallies took place in various areas
of Bahrain in response to calls for solidarity with political detainees under
the slogan “Friday in Support for Prisoners.”
Angry masses took to the streets in the towns of Sanabis, Karranah, A’ali,
Abu Saiba, Shakhura, Al-Markh, Sitra, Saar, Al-Maqsha, Barbar, and Diraz,
demanding the release of political detainees, the clearing of prisons, and
an end to the retaliatory policy practiced against them by the Al Khalifa
regime.
Despite the peaceful demonstrations and the chants demanding the
release of detainees, mercenary gangs suppressed the demonstrators by
shooting them. This resulted in the injury of the youth, Hussein Habib
Badaw, from the town of Diraz, who was shot directly in the head and
subsequently taken to the hospital.
