According to human rights sources, a number of prisoners of conscience in the central prison of Joe were infected with skin diseases and extreme sensitivity, as a result of cutting water, preventing hygiene tools and disallowing the prisoners to go out for exposure to the sun.
The sources explained that the scabies had spread in Joe prison in cell No.4, where the prison administration transferred 14 prisoners from building 4 to an isolated room in cell No.2, which lacks water and hygiene items, and it prevented everyone from taking shower or getting a proper treatment.
