Human rights sources reported that the former prisoner of conscience, Hamid al-Khatim, has been fighting lung cancer since he was released from prison.
The sources pointed out that the aggravation of his illness is caused by the lack of medical care and the deliberately denial of medical treatment in al-Khalifa prisons.
Furthermore, the sources illustrated that denial of medical treatment and follow-up leads to the spread of diseases among the prisoners of conscience, especially cancer.
