Al-Saghir was wounded in a bloody attack on the May 23, 2016 during al-Daraz sit-in. He was seriously injured by a sound bomb and by internationally prohibited bullets, which led to the spread of shrapnel in his body. He has been without treatment for more than 20 months, as he suffers from pain in his head and hand as a result of this injury.
