Local sources have mentioned that the young –age detainees in the Dry Dock prison have begun their hunger strike on Saturday, 4 August 2018, in protest against the systematic harassments followed by prison administration.
The detainees at the juvenile building, specifically at building No. 17- cell.12) have mentioned that their step comes because of the abuse they are subjected to, especially from the officer called (Tariq al-Qahwaji) who had initiated a series of retaliatory procedures against them.
It is noting that a number of prisoners of conscience in the Dry Dock prison have complained the bad conditions of the cells, where they have no water since 5 days and they are not allowed to operate the air-conditioner, according to human right sources.
